Pathology and Individualized Medicine:

Pathology encompasses the study of both the processes that cause diseases and the manifestations of diseases in tissues and organs. Pathology also refers to the clinical discipline that analyzes tissues, cells, and blood to diagnose disease; to assess the susceptibility to disease; and to monitor the activity and effects of treatment. This presentation will outline how members of the Pathology Department at Stanford are leading a fundamental and exciting transformation in the ways we understand, classify, prevent, and treat disease.
