Japanese Incense Ceremony
Nishiura Kihachiro, a Kohdoh Master from Japan will conduct an incense ceremony. Kohdoh is a traditional Japanese art, a ritual that is meditative in nature, but unlike the tea ceremony is also playful. Kohdoh has deep roots in Japanese culture, dating back at least as far as the Heian period (794-1192). It is mentioned in the Tale of Genji and evokes images of the beauty and wonder of ancient Japanese culture of that period.
This will be the final ceremony of the year.
Location: EAST (Treat) house lounge, Stanford campus.
Time: 11:00~12:30
Because the ceremony involves the active participation of each individual, enrollment is limited to 12 people.
