Rebeca Mauleón has been at the forefront of Latin and world music for over twenty-five years. A prolific pianist, composer, arranger, Mauleón has performed with luminaries in the Latin, pop and world music scenes, including Carlos Santana, Mickey Hart, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Joe Henderson. Her performing and arranging credits include GRAMMY® winners and nominees Tito Puente, Steve Windood and Carlos Patato Valdez. She recorded and toured with Mickey Hart's Planet Drum as the group's Musical Director in the '90s, with appearances at Woodstock '99, the Conan O'Brien show, and the Regis and Kathy Lee Show. Praised for her "fiery piano" (Utne Reader), her "sparkling approach to the keys" (Express) and her ability to surprise (Jazziz), Mauleón's recent recording "Latin Fire" showcases her ability to blend fiery Afro-Caribbean rhythms, rich jazz textures, and unprecedented combinations of Gospel, R&B and Flamenco styles.
