Jin Kyung Lim, an organist, harpsichordist and pianist, was born in Seoul, Korea. She earned her Bachelor in Music at Yonsei University in Korea and her Doctor of Musical Art in performance and literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). At UIUC, she studied the harpsichord with Charlotte Mattax Moersch, the organ with Dana Robinson, the choral conducting with Joe Grant.  She gave numerous solo recitals and concerts in Korea, the United States and multiple other countries. She played the organ during the Watu Gregorian Festival in Belgium and a concert in Paris as a member of Seoul Women Gregorian Chant Choir, for Marie-Claire Alain’s master class in Montreal, for the Friday Noon Organ Recital Series at Church of Christ Cathedral, Indianapolis, and recently for the Spain-Portugal tour of Main Street Singers, Los Altos.  As an active chamber musician, she enjoyed performing with various ensemble groups, including UI Symphony, UI Chamber Singers, UI Wind Orchestra, Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana and Main Street Singers. She has also been serving as a church organist since the age of 14. She is currently the organist of First Lutheran Church, Palo Alto.
