San Francisco Ballet Performance

Program 6

Mixed Repertory

Considered one of Sir Frederick Ashton's signature masterpieces, Symphonic Variations makes an encore performance. Next, a collaboration between Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein, Dybbuk, making its San Francisco Ballet premiere, is a dramatic portrayal based on Jewish folklore of a young man whose body is taken over by a spirit from beyond. Plus, ten years after it first wowed audiences and critics, Val Caniparoli's vivacious fusion of Bach and traditional African music, Lambarena, makes its long awaited return.
