Award-Winning Teachers on Teaching Series: R. Lanier Anderson, Philosophy Department: Preparing and Delivering the Lecture

"Preparing and Delivering the Lecture." Prof. Anderson will explore some strategies and tips for the construction and the delivery of lectures, especially those designed for audiences in relatively large courses. Some attention will also be paid to techniques appropriate for smaller groups. He will discuss several different pitfalls and problems that have arisen in his own experience teaching in lecture courses here at Stanford, comparing strategies that worked with those that seemed not to work, and discussing some ideas that worked with some groups and not others.
