Take a love song, preferably a popular one with a nice melody and silly lyrics (if you think about them too much). Improvise new voices with lots of fancy passagework and syncopated rhythms for good measure to show off. Write very little down. Either be forgotten, or remembered as one of the highest paid musicians of the century. Jazz, right? Fifteenth-century musicians didn't call it that, but they did the same things.
