We're taking a group from EV to run and walk the oldest consecutively-held footrace in the world -- Bay to Breakers! Imagine it: we're in the start crowd, throwing tortillas like frisbees with the other tens of thousands of folks behind the starting line. The line starts to move and you walk or run past skyscrapers, into neighborhoods where folks are cheering on their porches and blaring music in welcome, through the Haight, into Golden Gate Park, and right up to the ocean, blue and gorgeous. There's a costume contest, and lots of folks opt to complete the course without any sort of costume at all (cough cough). After finishing (did you slap the hands of the people dressed like salmon running upstream?), head on over to Footstock, where you're in for all sorts of treats and a tee shirt to boot! DON'T WORRY if you've never done one of these before -- this is the one to do! Send an email to kikimilks@gmail.com by April 10th -- we'll set up a list for more information! We'll organize transportation and training walks/runs on campus - you can meet other people and get motivated!
