Special Address, Li Yong, Vice Minister of Finance for the International Economy, P.R. China

Based on his extensive experience and distinguished service in public life and in the field of public finance, Vice Minister of Finance for the People's Republic of China Li Yong will address issues of development and international investment, closing the gap between China's rich and poor, the role of the World Bank in China, and a variety of related issues during his special address this Wednesday

evening in Cubberley Auditorium. Mr. Li will also speak on the general state of U.S./China relations, especially as it is affected by questions of international development, finance, and trade. Introducing Mr. Li will be Prof. Nicholas Hope, former Country Director for China

for the World Bank who himself has worked Mr. Li on many of these

issues.
