A CAREER TALK by Greg Loose, Chief of the Commercial Section at the American Institute in Taiwan

Greg Loose is Chief of the Commercial Section at the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), a non-profit corporation established by the Taiwan Relations Act of 1979 to support relations between the peoples of America and Taiwan. Based in Taipei, he manages programs to promote exports of US goods and services throughout the island. He will talk briefly about his career, which began with language and area studies. He has held positions with US, British, and Japanese banks in Tokyo and Los Angeles handling corporate, trade, and project finance before joining the Department of Commerce. As a commercial officer, he has served diplomatic assignments in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Tokyo, and London. After sharing his career experience, he will be available to answer questions about career paths or chat with the audience about U.S.-Taiwan trade and other U.S.-Taiwan issues.
