Stanford Undergraduate Psychology Conference

The Stanford Undergraduate Psychology Association and the Stanford chapter of Psi Chi are pleased to host the Fifth Annual Stanford Undergraduate Psychology Conference and would like to invite you to spectate. The conference will be held on campus on Saturday, May 7th, 2005. It will showcase excellent undergraduate research and provide a forum for participating students to exchange ideas and make valuable contacts. Furthermore, proceeds from the conference will be donated to the California Psychology Internship Council (CAPIC), which helps ensure that professional psychology training and mental health services in California are of the highest quality (http://www.capic.net/).

Laura L. Carstensen, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Psychology and Director of the Life-span Development Laboratory at Stanford University will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Carstensen's research focuses on the social, emotional, and cognitive processes that people use to adapt to life circumstances as they age. Ian H. Gotlib, Ph.D., Professor in the Department of Psychology and Director of the Stanford Mood and Anxiety Disorders Laboratory, will be leading a discussion about clinical psychology and graduate school to conclude the conference.
