Stanford Jazz Festival: Soul Jazz Summit

Soul Jazz emerged in the 50s and sontinues to gain respect and converts as well as inspiring combos like Medeski, Martin, and Wood and Soulive. Red Holloway and Plas Johnson along with Gene Ludwig combine the harmonic sophistication of modern jazz with the grooves and gritty cadences of R&B.
