Paco Pena, Misa Flamenca with the Stanford Chamber Chorale, Stephen M. Sano, director

With the energy of a Spanish fiesta, the arresting Misa Flamenca expresses the passion of

Easter through a flamenco mass infused with sorrow and joy. The centerpiece is an

unforgettable, transcendent interpretation of the Lord's Prayer, delivered by a lone

singer and a single dancer. Spanish guitarist and composer Paco Pena performs solo, with

his acclaimed ensemble, and with the voices of the Stanford Chamber Chorale. This unique

mass is the perfect crescendo to a yearlong tribute to Memorial Church, celebrating its

centennial anniversary.

"...to me, flamenco seems like a spiritual experience..." --Paco Pena
