Advanced Research in the Humanities: Annual Colloquium of IHUM Mellon and University Scholars

The Stanford Introduction to the Humanities Program (IHUM) cordially invites faculty, postdoctoral fellows, advanced graduate students, and all interested staff, students, and general public to the Advanced Research in the Humanities Colloquium of IHUM Postdoctoral Fellows.

The Colloquium will be on Friday, April 29, and runs from 8am to 8pm at Wallenberg Hall (bldg.160) Theater.

This annual event gathers the prominent postdoctoral scholars in IHUM teaching and research residence at Stanford to engage the scholarly community on pressing issues in the humanities. This year four panels organize research presentations and their latest multi-media works on “Engendering Gender,” “Forging Poetic and Political Identities”, “Aesthetics, Philosophy, and Politics,” and “War, Terror, and Torture.” Faculty respondents represent departments across the Humanities and Sciences. Catered breakfast, lunch, and wine and cheese receptions are open to all who attend the event. For the complete schedule of panels and scholarly biographies please see: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/undergrad/ihum/ or call: 650-725-3984.
