Volunteer and get fed at the Stanford POWWOW!

Did you know that Stanford has a yearly powwow? A powwow is a non-religious event in Native American/Indian culture that centers around group singing, music, and dances in beautiful costumes.

People come to this one from all across the country to compete and watch. Last year a friend and I ran (literally) right into it -- it's in the Arboretum right off Palm Drive! In addition to the big spectator dancing area, there is also a fair of craft and food vendors. It is awesome!

EV is going to be taking a team of volunteers. Come and help out, and at the end of your shift we'll give you FREE FOOD from the vendors. (Ever have frybread? Mmmmm -- frybread!) We've also got a FREE TEESHIRT in the works.

Our volunteer shift is from 2-4 next Saturday, May 7th -- we'll be selling programs, assisting with parking, etc. This may be the BEST VOLUNTEER THING YOU DO ALL YEAR -- AND THE EASIEST!

We're meeting in the EV offices parking lot at 1:30 pm to walk over and get assigned to our jobs. Afterwards, we'll give you money for food!

Will you come? Email Kirstin (k.j.milks@stanford.edu) by Friday, May 6th and let me know what shirt size you wear.
