GCEP Research Symposium: Meeting the Challenge of Reducing Global GHG Emissions Through Energy Research
The Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP) will hold its first energy research symposium which will feature well-known speakers and leading researchers from Stanford and around the world. The four-day event is intended to provide a forum for the discussion of energy technologies needed for a future with significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions. GCEP-funded investigators will give presentations highlighting the results of their innovative research, and their graduate students will host poster sessions to provide the details of their work.

Keynote speakers include:

Prof. Freeman Dyson, Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton University

Prof. Ernest Moniz, Department of Physics and Engineering Systems, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Dr. R. K. Pachauri, Director-General, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi; Chairman, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)

Each day will focus on specific topics:

Monday, June 13: Geologic Sequestration of CO2

Tuesday, June 14: Advanced Combustion

Wednesday, June 15: Hydrogen and Renewables

Thursday, June 16: Assessments and New GCEP Projects
