A Celebration of Tagore's Life & Work

Rabindranath Tagore was India's first Nobel Laureate. A prolific poet, musician, novelist, dramatist and painter, he was also a great social reformer and philosopher. We shall present some of his most loved compositions and highlight his contributions in Feminism, Social Reform, Education and Nationalism. All songs will be explained in English, and will be transliterated so the audience can follow along. Most songs are in Bengali while a few will be performed in Hindi. Through his contributions, Tagore has long slipped past the claims of Bengal, and today, belongs to all of India and the world. We welcome you to join us in celebrating his philosophy of universalism.
