Stanford Jazz Orchestra - Fredrick Berry, director

The SJO hosts composer Bob Curnow, who began his career touring with the Stan Kenton Orchestra as a trombone player who produced over 30 LPs for Kenton, as well as arranging and composing during his tenure with the band. In 1999, Curnow was inducted into the IAJE Educator's Hall of Fame, and is a past president of the organization, having spent over 20 years teaching and directing at Cal State LA, Michigan State, Case Western, and as a guest conductor for numerous All-State Jazz Ensembles throughout the US. After a short residency with him, the band will be playing Curnow's compositions and arrangements.
