Faculty Life and Hiring: CSU-East Bay & Public Comprehensive Universities (PhDs & Postdocs)
Considering a faculty career? Wondering what it's like to be a faculty member at a teaching-focused university? Want tips on how to be a successful applicant?What skills do you need to focus on now? This session is for you if you are considering a faculty career and are interested in exploring life beyond research-focused universities. There are many teaching-focused comprehensive regional universities that serve the students of their state. During this information session you will meet faculty members from California State University - East Bay (CSUEB). CSUEB is part of the 23-campus CSU system. CSUEB has the 5th most diverse student body in the US, and is also committed to faculty diversity. There are teaching-focused comprehensive universities across the United States. CSU-EB will be recruiting many new faculty members for the fall of 2018 in a diverse range of disciplines. Join CSUEB Diversity Officer Dianne Rush-Woods, Earth & Environmental Sciences Professor Michael Massey (Stanford PhD ’13) and other CSUEB professors as they discuss the mission and culture of CSUEB, faculty and student life, and submitting a competitive application.
