Community Service Panel

Come learn about community service opportunities at Stanford! Representatives from the Haas Center, SPOON (Stanford Project on Hunger), and The Science Bus will discuss the community and educational services they provide to those in need around the Bay Area. This is a great opportunity to learn how you can get involved in exciting volunteer opportunities!

Free pizza and drinks will be provided.

About our Panelists:

The Haas Center for Public Service connects academic study with community and public service to strengthen communities and develop effective public leaders. The Center aspires to develop aware, engaged and thoughtful citizens who contribute to the realization of a more just and humane world.

Stanford Project on Hunger (SPOON) takes as its mission the widespread reduction of food waste on Stanford by distributing unused food leftovers to local organizations to meet the hunger needs of community members. SPOON also works to spread campus awareness of hunger and homelessness issues with the overall goals of reducing waste and alleviating hunger.

The Science Bus sponsors an after-school science curriculum (developed and taught by Stanford students) for grade-school children in East Palo Alto.
