Stanford Summer Chorus: New World, New Beginnings
Returning conductor Rafael Ornes will lead the Summer Chorus for the program "New World, New Beginnings," celebrating the musical contributions of immigrants to the United States. Ola Gjeilo's radiant Sunrise Mass for chorus and string orchestra will be featured, along with works by Rachmaninoff, Bartok, Casals, Irving Berlin, and John Lennon.
The Stanford Summer Chorus is a non-auditioned community chorus sponsored by the Stanford Department of Music. Membership is open to everyone; singers typically come from all corners of the Bay Area, and from all age groups and ability levels.
