The Graduate Student Council is putting together their 8th annual holiday feast for grad students, family, and friends. Come enjoy a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings! Vegetarian options will be available as well. This is a wonderful service the GSC puts together every year, and it's FREE! And there's PIE!
You can eat either at 1 pm or at 4 pm.
PLEASE REGISTER by following the instructions on the webpage. This will make sure you'll get to eat! :-)
Registration closes at 11:59 pm, November 21st. We _strongly encourage_ you to sign up before the deadline. In case you are unable to do so, you are still welcome to come at 5 pm. Admission at 5 pm will be strictly on a first-come first-served basis.
Happy Thanksgiving!
*********
In addition to dining, you can help others less fortunate by bringing a can of food -- just one can makes a difference!
At the Thanksgiving dinner, the GSC is sponsoring a VOLUNTARY canned food drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Second Harvest is a private non-profit organization that collects and distributes more than 27 million pounds of food each year to low-income children, adults and seniors. The Food Bank currently serves an average of 163,500 individuals each month; nearly 60% are families with dependent children.
Some items that are most needed: powdered milk, peanut butter, pasta, tuna, low-sugar cereal, meals in a can (stew, chili, soup), 100% fruit juices in single-serving boxes, canned foods with pop-top lids. All nutritious, non-perishable items will be greatly appreciated; please avoid donating items packaged in glass.
