Studio Lecture Series - Alex Donis

Los Angeles-based artist, Alex Donis, to give public lecture on his latest work including his series, "War and Peace" that examines and redefines the boundaries endemic to religion, politics and sexuality through his infamous same sex kissing couples, that include members of the Los Angeles Police Department and local gang members, religious icons such as the Madonna and Mother Teresa that all represent different cultures, historical and mythic figures. His artworks subvert nothing and strive to address race, tolerance and acceptance through a tri-cultural experience-Pop, Latin and queer visually manifested in painting, video installation and works on paper.
