Start with hockey. Remove the puck, skates, pads and fighting. Keep the ice. Add tennis shoes, a "broom" and an oversized plastic ball. Use the broom to get the ball in your opponent's goal. That's broomball. Falling down for no apparent reason, that's broomball. Colliding with a friend because you just can't stop, that's broomball. Having the ball roll just out of reach and not being able to move towards it, yep, that's broomball.
Join your EV friends for a night of icy broomball fun on a private rink at the Palo Alto Winter Lodge! They provide all equipment and we provide the energy. We will have hot chocolate and cookies afterwards. Come dressed for active fun on ice. Meet at the EV Office at 6:15pm sharp and we'll drive over. We should return to campus by 8:45pm or so.
Space is limited to 20 students so RSVP to Constantin (chueshov@stanford.edu) by 9pm, Thursday, January 12th. Please also say if you can drive and how many total passengers you can take. You may bring one non-EV friend per RSVP ($10 extra charge).
Selection by lottery if there are more replies than spaces. In this case people willing to drive will have priority. See you there!
