Cornel West Speaks at Equity Matters: Creating Educational Opportunities for All Students

Foundation for a College Education (FCE) and Stanford University School of Education present "Equity Matters: Creating Educational Opportunities for All Students," a higher education forum featuring Dr. Cornel West and moderated by Professor Linda Darling-Hammond.

While most agree that education can and should be the great equalizer, academic success and degree completion in this country continue to be tied to income and race. Forum speakers will examine issues of educational equity and access with a focus on why some students succeed and others don't at the K-16 level. Dr. West will engage the audience in a discussion about whether we as a nation have succeeded in ensuring the right of education for all children. Join Dr. West, Professor Linda Darling-Hammond, and FCE students from East Palo Alto and the surrounding communities as they explore ways to create educational opportunities for all students.
