This seminar describes current environmental regulatory and public stakeholder challenges facing oil & gas production in California and approaches industry practitioners are using to manage these issues and protect their license to operate. The seminar serves as a preview to the ENE 212 course offered in Spring quarter.

About the Speaker
Jonathan Lilien is Health Environment & Safety (HES) Advisor for Chevron in San Ramon, CA. He has been with the company for 15 years in a series of roles with increasing responsibility, including HES technical services manager, water team leader, and community engagement advisor. Prior to Chevron, Jonathan was a Clean Water Act regulator with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He holds a Doctor of Environmental Science & Engineering (D.Env.) degree from UCLA.
