2006 Joint Korean American Film Festival: Korea Studies in Media Arts (Feb 7-12) & Stanford University (Feb 9-11)
February 9, 10 at 7pm, February 11 at 5pm (35mm | Subtitled in English)
Do you like our soap operas? Then you'll love our movies! The South Korean film industry has, in the past few years, achieved astonishing popularity domestically and internationally. This year, for the first time, we mean to provide a rare opportunity for the Stanford community and the bay area to enjoy and engage in a wide array of recent Korean films, from horror to family-orientated movies.
This daring first Stanford Korean Film festival presents three distinguished contemporary Korean films: “Murder, Take one (FEB9),” “Duelist (FEB10),” and “Taegukgi (FEB11).” Not only will films be shown, but there will be opportunities to meet award winning Korean directors. Come and enjoy this year's breath-taking line of Korean films — you won't want to miss it.
Screening is followed by audience discussion with the directors on Feb 10 (Myung-Se Lee) and Feb 11 (Je-Gyu Kang).
