Salman, who plays lead guitar and sings with South Asia's premier rock band Junoon, studied and sang with the legendary qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the 1990s. The Sufi influence has always been strong in Junoon's music. Salman and accompanists will present Sufi music as vibrant and ever changing, singing lyrics of traditional Sufi poets like Bullhe Shah, as well as more recent Sufi poetry, in a rock idiom.
