ASEE Colloquium: Education at Scale
Our world is growing; both in population, and in complexity. Educators of the future
will be faced with the simultaneous issues of teaching changing skills to a growing
population. This raises the question: How do we achieve education at scale?
The American Society for Engineering Education's annual Colloquium is focused on this question. Drawing speakers from huge computerized courses, small personalized learning, and everything in between, we aim to bring perspectives from across the scales of education, in order to address this pressing question.
Mitchell, former Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning,
will deliver the keynote address, followed by talks from Zachary Pardos (UC Berkeley),
Prober (Stanford), and Paul Mitiguy (Stanford).
The event will culminate in a panel discussion with Paul Mitiguy (Stanford), Thalia Anagnos (SJ State), and Chris Piech (Stanford), who will compare the micro-, meso-, and macro-scales of education, synthesizing observations in a comparative approach.
