Stanford V-Day 2006 11th Annual Benefit Fundraiser is proud to present Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues as part of Stanford's V-Week, February 5th-11th, 2006.
V-Week is a week devoted to raising awareness of issues surrounding violence against women through educational and fundraising campaigns, culminating in the performances of The Vagina Monologues on February 9th, 10th, 11th at 8PM in Kresge Auditorium. All of the proceeds from the performances and fundraising will be donated to our 2006 local & national beneficiaries, who are dedicated to providing support to survivors of violence.
Our local beneficiary is CORA, Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse of San Mateo, a domestic violence shelter providing aid and services to victims and their families. Our National V-Day contribution will be donated to the Comfort Women campaign, women from all parts of Asia who were forced to become sexual slaves of Japanese military officers during World War II.
To help stop violence in our own Stanford community, we will be offering a Self-Defense Workshop on Monday, February 6, 4-6pm in the Women's Community Center and "Incessant Injustice: Sexual Assault In our Community (A Panel)" on Wednesday, February 8, 5-6:30pm in the Women's Community Center.
