Dena Evans has helped lead the Cardinal middle distance and distance runners to 14 All-America honors in cross country and 37 in track and field. Evans was named NCAA Western Region Co-Coach of the Year in 1999, 2001 and 2002 and serves as the Western Region representative of the Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association.

Dick Gould is Director of Tennis at Stanford University after being named coach of the decade for the 1980s and the 1990s and NCAA coach of the year in 2000. Under the tutelage of Gould, some of the world's finest tennis players have developed their games at Stanford. A list of former players reads somewhat like a Who's Who in Professional Tennis. Nine of his players have reached the top 15 in world singles rankings and 14 have reached the top 10 in the world in doubles (seven of these players have attained the world's #1 ranking).

Kerry McCoy, a two-time Olympian, four-time World Cup Champion and three-time NCAA All-American, began his first year as the head coach of the Stanford wrestling program in 2005-06.

Tara VanDerveer is in her 20th season as the head coach of the Stanford women's basketball program. In addition to her extraordinary achievement with the Cardinal which include two NCAA Championships, five NCAA Final Four appearances, 13 Pacific-10 Conference titles and 17 consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament, she became internationally known in 1996 when she guided the United States Olympic Women's Basketball Team to the gold medal in Atlanta.
