European Cinema Night

The European Association at Stanford is hosting our first event of the quarter next Wednesday February 8th, at 7:30 pm. We will be screening the Spanish film Belle Epoque which won the 1992 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

By director Fernando Trueba, the film deals with the return of a young man from the Spanish Civil War to a small town in southern Spain, where he falls in love with each of the four daughters of a local family. It offers a smart and witty view on love, sex, honor, and the age of innocence.

This event will be a great way to meet with people in the group and see an excellent example of European cinema. It is open to all students so feel free to invite your friends to come as well. Come to chat and meet new people, as well as enjoy delicious desserts and refreshments. Also come to hear about other events the EAS is planning for this winter and the rest of the year, including a speaker series and themed food nights.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at 7:30pm Wednesday 2/8 at Casa Italiana (562 Mayfield Ave.).

Cheers,

Alan Anderson

EAS President
