New Media Literacies

Kristina Hooper Woolsey, Co-Principal Investigator, New Media Literacy Project, University of Chicago and MIT

Dr. Woolsey, a key player in the Apple Computer Multimedia Lab for more than a decade, helped introduce prototypes and products demonstrating the possibilities of emerging digital technologies that encourage human learning and expression. Her talk will explore fundamental questions including: What are people doing spontaneously in this realm? How can we all participate in a digitally scaffolded society? And how might youth gain important new media fluencies?
