The Rachmaninoff Festival Choir, under the direction of Anthony Antolini, presents Rachmaninoff's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, featuring Andre Papkov, Bass.
Dr. Antolini, a Stanford alumnus formerly affiliated with Cabrillo College and St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Menlo Park, is now a professor at Bowdoin College. He formed the Maine-based Rachmaninoff Festival Choir to perform Russian liturgical music, and has taken the group to Russia twice - once in 1987, giving the first liturgical performance of Rachmaninoff's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom since the church banned it immediately after its composition in 1910.
