Dr.Seth Lerer: Does the English Language Have a Future?

Dr.Seth Lerer, Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities, was educated at Wesleyan University, Oxford and the University of Chicago. He has taught medieval literature and the history of the English Language for twenty-five years. He is a popular lecturer on the history and the state of the English language and has won numerous awards such as the Hoagland Prize for Undergraduate teaching and the Dean's Award for Graduate Teaching.

He is currently finishing a book, Inventing English: A Portable History of the Language, under contract with Columbia University Press.
