What Matters to Me and Why featuring R. Lanier Anderson, Associate Professor of Philosophy

Don't miss the Office for Religious Life's popular discussion and lecture series encouraging members of the Stanford community to reflect on matters of personal values, beliefs and motivations. Come discover what really matters to and inspires those who help shape the University. All students, faculty, staff and friends are welcome to attend this free event. Bring your brown-bag lunch, if you like.

R. Lanier Anderson received his BA from Yale University in 1987, and his MA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. His interests lean toward the history of late modern philosophy, particularly Kant, Nietzsche, neo-Kantianism and 19th century philosophy, interests reflected in his numerous published articles. Professor Anderson received a 2004-2005 Deans' Award for distinguished teaching, and is a 2002 recipient of the Walter J. Gores Award - the university's highest teaching honor.
