Stanford International Development and Education Conference

At the turn of the millennium, countries from around the world agreed to the Millennium Development Goals, setting various targets to cut world poverty in half by 2015. One of these targets, universal primary education, is already sorely behind—more than 58 million girls and 45 million boys are being denied the right of an education. Panelists will gather on April 15th to discuss the future of education and development, examining in-depth the challenges to progress, priorities going forward, best practices and lessons learned. Cream Wright, UNICEF Chief of Education, will deliver the keynote address.
