New Seminar Series on Science and Technology in Society

Stanford's Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Program is launching a new seminar series this spring, featuring renowned scholars from across the United States and Europe. The series meets weekly, on Fridays at noon, and will include presentations by Charles Perrow (Yale University), Diane Vaughan (Columbia University), Simon Cole (UC Irvine), Hugh Gusterson (MIT), and other leading scholars in STS studies.

The STS Program invites faculty and graduate students interested in the complex interactions of science and technology with ethics, law, public policy, international security, organizations, and medicine to attend and participate in the seminar. Talks will examine how science and technology both shape and are shaped by social and cultural forces and structures. A detailed schedule of the new speaker series is available on the STS website at http://sts.stanford.edu.
