Ron Kline is Bovay Professor of History and Ethics of Engineering at Cornell University, where he holds a joint appointment between the Science & Technology Studies Department and the School of Electrical Engineering. He is the author of "Steinmetz: Engineer and Socialist" (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 1992), and "Consumers in the Country: Technology and Social Change in Rural America" (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2000). His current research project is a book on the social history of cybernetics and information theory in the United States.
