Ambassador Augustine Mahiga and Voices from Africa: Diplomatic, Academic and Artistic Voices from East Africa

Dr. Augustine Mahiga, Ambassador of Tanzania to the UN Security Council, will deliver SAID's Annual 'Issues in International Development' Lecture, entitled, "Development & Conflict Resolution in Africa: Tanzania's Role in the UN Security Council." The lecture will be followed by an interactive question and answer session with Dr. Mahiga, and the evening will conclude with a special performance from Talisman, Stanford's reknowned a cappella group. Proceeds from ticket sales and the benefit concert will go toward the alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan.
