Come join the "awareness" walk to support Sexual Assault Awareness Month, benefiting the YWCA's Rape Crisis Center.
Male community leaders and residents are asked to walk (in high heels) from Plaza de Cesar Chavez (in downtown San Jose) through the streets of downtown - less than a mile - to call awareness to the problem of sexual assault in our community. It is a light-hearted way to approach a very serious issue that is the responsibility of us all. The YWCA will provide the high heels, but regular shoes are allowed. Women are encouraged to walk, as well. The walk will end at the San Jose Museum of Art where a reception will be held.
