Talk by Hugh Gusterson, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Comment: Lynn Eden. Hugh Gusterson is Associate Professor of Anthropology and Science Studies at MIT. His books include "Nuclear Rites" (UC Press, 1996), "People of the Bomb" (Minnesota, 2004), and the co-edited volume "Why America's Top Pundits Are Wrong" (UC Press, 2005). His work focuses on the political culture of American nuclear weapons scientists and on American military-industrial culture more broadly. Besides his academic publications (in science studies, anthropology, and international relations journals), he has also written for the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, New Scientist, the Boston Review, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe and the San Francisco Chronicle.
