Mollie Chapman is a senior at Stanford University, majoring in Anthropology with an emphasis on Population and the Environment. She focuses her studies on finding creative solutions to meet the goals of sustainable development. She has worked on sustainable development projects in Indonesia and Costa Rica, and also done research with the Center for Ecotourism and Sustainable Development in Washington, DC.

Her paper, on the role of narratives in conflict mediation, was published in the Review of Policy Research, in December 2005.

She originates from Pullman, Washington, home of the National Pea and Lentil Festival.
