The Changing World of Medical Imaging

The influence of imaging is well appreciated by the biomedical community, and people understand that imaging provides very powerful information for scientific research and patient care. We will cover the progress that has been made in creating new tools that have revolutionized imaging and that elucidate both the structure and function of living systems. Even “old” tools, such as the X-ray, can yield important results when appropriately used to improve cancer detection, and the “new” tools of imaging are being used in novel ways for a variety of objectives inside and outside of medicine.
