Día de los Muertos

Come take part in our festive Dia de los Muertos Carnaval (11/3) and celebrate the lives of those who have passed on with food, live music, arts and crafts, and a final ceremony to honor our dead.

Join us at El Centro the previous Friday (10/27) at 2 pm for the building of the altar, and stay for the Velacion at 10 pm. The Velacion, or blessing, is a tradition full of flowers and song, prayers and reverence for our ancestors past. Everyone of all spiritual paths is welcome.

Toyon Lounge (in Toyon Hall, 455 Arguello Way, next to Branner). Altar building and blessing to be held at El Centro Chicano (545 Lomita Drive, at the corner of Lomita and Santa Teresa streets).  [Map]
