ST. LAWRENCE STRING QUARTET CHAMBER MUSIC SEMINAR FREE CONCERT SERIES

The St. Lawrence String Quartet and acclaimed guest faculty of their 2006 Chamber Music Seminar, which opens June 23, present a series of free concerts:

MONDAY, JUNE 26, NOON

Shostakovich: Sonata for cello and piano in d minor, Op. 40 (1934); Matt Haimovitz, cello; Stephen Prutsman, piano.

Mozart: Viola Quintet in g minor, K. 516; SLSQ and Henk Guittart, viola.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28, NOON

Popper: Requiem for three cellos and piano; Nina Lee, Matt Haimovitz, Christopher Costanza, cellos; Stephen Prutsman, piano.

Thuille: Piano Quintet in E flat, Op. 20; SLSQ and Jamie Parker, piano.

FRIDAY, JUNE 30, NOON

Brahms: Waltzes, Op. 39, Jamie Parker and Stephen Prutsman, piano.

Strauss (arr. Schoenberg): Rosen aus dem suden, Op. 388, and Lagunenwalzer, Op. 411 (1921) for string quartet, harmonium, piano; SLSQ, Jamie Parker, piano, Stephen Prutsman, harmonium.

SATURDAY, JULY 1, 7:30 PM

International String Quartet Showcase! We invite you to enjoy an evening with the chamber music stars of tomorrow, coached by the St. Lawrence String Quartet and guest faculty at this year's chamber music seminar. These pasionate and gifted young professional musicians come to us from Australia, Canada, Hungary, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, and the US. They are amazing! No tickets are required for this event, but seating is lmited. Campbell Recital Hall.
