Art History Lecture Series - Allen Weiss

Allen Weiss, Professor of Performance Studies and Cinema Studies at New York University, will kick off the 2006-7 Art History Lecture Series, with a lecture entitled, "Dance Macabre: On the Ontology of the Marionette." Two of Professor Weiss's recent books include, "Feast and Folly: Cuisine, Intoxication, and the Poetics of the Sublime" and "Breathless: Sound Recording, Disembodiment, and the Transformation of Lyrical Nostalgia." The Art History Lecture Series includes four invited, distinguished art historians to Stanford University to share their scholarship. This Series is sponsored by the Art & Art History Department and by the Cantor Arts Center Membership Board.
