Art History Lecture Series - Herbert Kessler

Herbert Kessler, Professor of Medieval Art, Zanvyl Krieger School of the Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, serves as the second of four distinguished speakers in this Series that is sponsored by the Department of Art & Art History and by the Cantor Arts Center Membership Board.

Professor Kessler's lecture is entitled, "Evil Eye(ing): Romanesque Art as a Shield of Faith." His latest books include, "Seeing Medieval Art (Rethinking the Middle Ages)" (2004), "Rome 1300: on the Path of the Pilgrim" (with Johanna Zacharias), and "Spiritual Seeing: Picturing God's Invisibility in Medieval Art."
