Badi Assad

Badi Assad—the younger sister of renowned classical guitar duo Sérgio and Odair Assad—is a beguiling singer, guitarist, and percussionist. With an uncanny ability to play several instruments simultaneously, she seamlessly blends her native Brazilian style with a multitude of exotically ethnic sounds. Her mesmerizing voice, often accompanied by mouth and rhythmic body percussion, is at times hauntingly ethereal, at others, vibrantly electric, and altogether exhilarating.

“Revelatory, a brilliant display of innovation, imagination, and skill...hypnotically compelling!” —Los Angeles Times
