St. Lawrence String Quartet with Jon Kimura Parker, piano

With its signature dynamism and highly expressive style, the St. Lawrence String Quartet returns for its second Sundays with the St. Lawrence concert. With celebrated classical pianist and longtime friend Jon Kimura Parker, the ensemble presents a technically dazzling program featuring Shostakovich's vivid Piano Quintet in G Minor, Haydn's light and luminous String Quartet in C Major, and Beethoven's monumental String Quartet in C-sharp Minor, a heartwrenching piece that is transformative in its emotional capacity. Geoff Nuttall, violin; Scott St. John, violin; Lesley Robertson, viola; Christopher Costanza, cello.

“Fearless musicians whose spontaneity stretches past conventional interpretation and probes the music's imaginative limits.” —Washington Post
